The Sea Wolves
The Sea Wolves are the group of elves, from the wild elves who live along the coastline of the continent, and who maintain trade with the city and the merchants who stop in port.
They live on a small floating “island” composed of yurts sitting atop large pieces of pumice lashed together, known as The Wolf’s Den, that sits about 1000 yards off the coast of Shadewater in the bay. Not much is known about them, or their leadership, as they remain relatively distant from the city (physically and socially), and their membership regularly changes out with other elves from the coast (so in a sense all the coastal elves are Sea Wolves, because the term applies to any of them staying in The Wolf’s Den for the purpose of trading).
The Sea Wolves are a very old group. Originally they were one of the many wild elf tribes, who simply called the region near Shadewater Bay home. Over the past several centuries since the lifting of the Fog, the tribes have continually merged into one cohesive structure, and the historic name of the Sea Wolves began to be used to describe elves who were hunting or trading in the Shadewater region. This usage then became specific to those staying in the Wolf’s Den, engaging in trading activity.
